David Muir (born August 25, 1949) is an American journalist, anchor and reporter. He is most well-known for World News Tonight. Seen by millions of Americans David Muir's program is well-known for its celebrity gossip video as well as animated gestures. Made In America was nominated for an Emmy. His predecessor, Diane Sawyer's main replacement anchor prior to his appointment as anchor of ABC World News Tonight. ABC News has broadcast many specials in primetime, the most recent being Breaking Point Heroin in America. He has been to many nations around the world reporting the current news. The locations include Gaza Egypt Iran Somalia Japan Peru Ukraine Haiti, and the Gulf of Mexico. He has received numerous Emmy Awards Edward R. Murrow Awards along with honours and prizes of the Associated Press.
