Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford was born in America. The actress is an actress or singer, as well as dancer. As a young actress, she appeared in Broadway role, she was the role of Essie Carmichael in Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. Her first Tony Award was given to Ashford for her role as Essie Carmichael in You Can't Take It With You. Ashford will make a return appearance on Broadway and play alongside Josh Groban in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Thomas Kail, director and producer of Hamilton is the director of the show. Ashford was last seen in the role of Paula Jones in Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment. This show is based around the National Crisis which put Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp at the center of the country's First Impeachment Proceedings over 100 Years. Her two seasons on CBS show B Positive was her first major part. It was developed by Marco Pennette and Chuck Lorre the series also starred legendary actors Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen.No no stranger to Broadway Ashford won the Tony Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her portrayal of Essie In You Can't Take It with You. Also, she has performed on Broadway in Sunday in the Park With George Wicked, Legally Blonde in addition to the original character in the role of Lauren In Kinky Boots for which she was nominated for a Tony Award. Ashford lives in Los Angeles & New York. She was born in Denver and was raised in Denver.
